Information ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, WTBC – #4752 Department: Wyoming Technology Business Center (WTBC) The University of Wyoming is seeking an innovative, energetic, and experienced individual to serve as Assistant Director with the Wyoming Technology Business Center (WTBC) Outreach Program. The WTBC is a statewide business development program currently operating an outreach program in conjunction with a business incubator on the campus of UW. The Assistant Director will:

  • Assist WTBC administration in identifying, recruiting and assessing potential client companies.
  • Provide business counseling services to growth stage companies that are incubator or outreach clients of the WTBC. Business counseling is focused on sales and marketing, organizational structure, financial and information systems, and ongoing strategic planning.
  • Develop and administer e2e programming events within designated territory.
  • Promote the WTBC program through marketing and public relations activities.
  • Participate in gathering information about the effectiveness of the programs of the WTBC and work in partnership with SBDC, M-W, WBC, etc. to support technology-related businesses throughout Wyoming.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: The person appointed should be highly motivated with demonstrated skill in dealing successfully with the problems faced by small, technology-related businesses as well as successfully marketing programs and facilities. The primary qualifications are: business management and planning expertise; experience in managing a small business venture or large corporate management experience; and demonstrated skill and experience in using public/community relations to effectively recruit community organizations and resources to serve clients. Travel (up to 25%) within the state of Wyoming is required. A Bachelor’s degree is required. An MBA or advanced Business related degree is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
