Shalin R. Jyotishi is the Assistant Director for Economic Development & Community Engagement at APLU where he’s responsible for initiatives that help universities maximize their economic and societal impact. Prior to joining APLU, he held various positions at the American Academy of Arts & Sciences and the the University of Michigan. He also served as a consultant to the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the International Monetary Fund. He serves as an editor of the Journal of Economic Development in Higher Education, as a member of the International Economic Development Council’s Higher Education Advisory Committee, as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper Executive Council member, and as a member of the United Nation’s Major Group for Children and Youth. He serves a University Innovation Fellow of the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford University where he mentors student innovators and campus leaders.
