Mobcraft Public Tour
In 2011, MobCraft founders Henry Schwartz and Andrew Gierczak dreamt up an idea for a crowdsourced brewery where the people decide what’s brewed. Learn about their history, how they brew beer, their unique crowdsourced model, the Wild & Sour Program and more! The spacious taproom boasts views of the brewhouse and wild & sour room, as well as foosball, ping pong, live music, outdoor seating and much more! Fun fact – ModCraft pitched their innovative brewing style on Shark Tank.
Established in 2016, Urban Harvest Brewing Company is a Milwaukee on-site neighborhood brewery and Taproom where they brew fresh, handcrafted ales in small batches several times a week. They have aided in the Walker’s Point region of urban revitalization with their taproom in a renovated theatre.
Lakefront Brewery Tour
Full of jokes and beer breaks, it’s no wonder TripAdvisor has ranked this hilarious tour as the number four brewery tour in the nation. Lakefront is known for their innovation, not only within the beer making process, but also in historic preservation. In 1996 Lakefront became the first certified organic brewery in the country and made the country’s first certified organic beer. In 2006 the brothers helped create a new category of beer when they became the first brewery in the nation to receive federal approval to brew a gluten-free beer. Using local ingredients also interested other breweries and the owners helped form the Midwest Hops and Barley Co-op. In 2009, the brewery produced the first beer since before prohibition made with 100% Wisconsin-grown hops and malt. Lakefront was the second brewery in the country to make a Pumpkin Beer and possibly the first to bottle a fruit beer in the country since Prohibition.
