Virginia Economic Development Partnership
In 1995, the Virginia General Assembly created the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) to better serve those seeking a prime business location and increased trade opportunities and, therefore, to foster increased expansion of the Commonwealth’s economy. As a state authority, the Partnership is governed by a 24 member Board Of Directors comprised of businesspersons from around Virginia, each of whom is appointed by the Governor and the General Assembly. Virginia Tech Foundation
The Virginia Tech Foundation, Inc. is located in scenic Blacksburg, Virginia, adjacent to the northwest corner of the Virginia Tech campus in the University Gateway Center. The foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit nonstock corporation established in 1948, and provides private financial support to enable the forward progress of Virginia Tech. University of Tennessee, Institute for Public Service
The University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service (IPS) extends the resources of the state’s land-grant university to help leaders of local and state governments and businesses find solutions to everyday problems. In fiscal year 2013, IPS agencies helped their customers contribute more than $600 million in economic impact in Tennessee. The Center for Industrial Services (CIS), an IPS agency, leads the institute’s economic development efforts by helping existing firms become more competitive, develop new products and markets, and by teaching economic development practitioners new approaches to navigating economic growth. During 2013 CIS is celebrating 50 years of service to Tennessee existing industry on behalf of the University of Tennessee.
California State University, Fresno is one of the 23 campuses of the California State University system and serves Central California’s diverse, growing population. With an enrollment of more than 23,000 students, Fresno State is designated by U.S. Department of Education as both a Hispanic-Serving Institution and an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution.
